Arrival
Upon arrival, you have a transfer to the centrally located hotel.
The rest of the day is free to start exploring Stockholm attractions on your own, dine in a local restaurant or take a good rest in your comfortable room.
Stockholm City Tour
After breakfast, you meet your guide and enjoy a 3-hour walking city tour around the most interesting attractions of Stockholm.
During the tour you explore the brilliant Old Town of Stockholm, that is one of the biggest and most well-preserved medieval Old Towns in Europe, and see the famous Royal Palace, the Stockholm Cathedral, and the City Hall. Transportation is not included, public transport or taxi, if needed, should be paid on spot.
After the tour, you return to your hotel and have the rest of the day free to explore Stockholm on your own.
Visit to the Skansen & Vasa Museums
Following breakfast, you check out from your hotel and your guide takes you to the Skansen Museum - the world's first open-air museum founded in 1891, that demonstrates the country's life before the industrial era. During the tour you take a fascinating journey through the five centuries of Swedish history, see the large collection of traditional rural houses and visit the museum’s zoo that represents about 75 different species of both domestic and wild Scandinavian animals, including brown bears, seals, lynx, and wolverines.
Later you walk to the nearby Vasa Museum rated as the most visited museum in the entire Scandinavia. This museum is famous for being home to the only intact 17th-century ship in the world - the Vasa. Sank on its maiden voyage in 1628 and salvaged only 333 years later, it managed to preserve more than 95 percent of its body in the original state.
Public transportation is included for this day.
In the late afternoon, you are transferred to the train station.
Arrival & Abisko Northern Lights Chase Group Tour
Welcome to Abisko! Thousands of people from around the globe come here each year to enjoy the breathtaking landscape of Swedish Lapland. These areas this far north are rightfully considered to be the last wilderness of Europe.
Being the so-called place "where no man has gone before", the region might not boast all perks of the civilized world but offers an exclusive chance to experience the peace and serenity of such a remote region.
Upon arrival, you walk to your hotel located very close to the train station.
You have a free time before the evening activity. You can start exploring surroundings on your own or join our carefully prepared optional tour. We recommend Snowshoe Hike or Dog Sledding (available from December 13th). Please contact your Travel Specialist for more details.
In the evening you are invited to chase the magical northern lights. During this group adventure, you will learn about the auroras, the history of Abisko National Park. You will also be served a warm drink. Your guide will take you to the location where the aurora activity is the highest, and where the weather gives a good chance of success. This is definitely a once-in-a-lifetime aurora chasing expedition!
Please note: wear warm clothes and warm insulated winter boots.
Landscape Photo Adventure Group Tour & Aurora Sky Station Group Night Visit
This day you start with a landscape group adventure with one of the professional photography guides.
You will learn everything from basic camera skills to more advanced photographic disciplines. Then your guide will take you to a number of stunning locations chosen to match the type of photographs you would like to capture.
Be sure, you will return home with lots of wonderful pictures and memories of the Arctic that will last a lifetime!
Please note: wear warm clothes, hats, and gloves as well as warm insulated winter boots.
In the evening you have a unique opportunity to visit and enjoy the Aurora Sky Station in Abisko - the internationally recognized best place on earth to experience the Northern Lights. Your guided group tour of the station starts with a beautiful chair lift ride up to the station, providing a unique chance to enjoy the beauty of the Abisko National Park at night.
During the tour, you have a chance to enjoy fantastic Northern Lights views from a large panoramic platform while your guide tells you many interesting facts about the Aurora and the region.
You can also visit a cozy cafe and a souvenir shop.
Please note: tour is not available from December 27 until December 31.
Snowmobile Adventure Group Tour
Today you have a free morning to relax and enjoy the unique atmosphere of silence. Or you can join our carefully prepared optional tour. We recommend Morning Hike in Abisko National Park or Dog Sledding (available from December 13th). Please contact your Travel Specialist for more details.
In the afternoon you will take a snowmobile group trip far into the wilderness and high up in the mountain areas. You will cruise through the frozen landscape where it is possible to encounter the "King of the Forest", the majestic moose. On the way back home there will be a stop for a break. You will warm up near the fire and enjoy a hot beverage together with the magnificent views. Warm overalls, winter boots, gloves, and helmet are included.
Please note: to drive a snowmobile a regular driver’s license from your home country is required!
The evening is free to relax after the snowmobile adventure or you may continue with our carefully prepared optional tour. We recommend The Ultimate Aurora Photo Adventure or Aurora Snowshoe Hiking (available from January 1st). Please contact your Travel Specialist for more details.
Ice Hotel Visit & Departure
Today in the morning you check-out from your hotel and are taken to visit Ice Hotel in the nearby Jukkasjärvi area. The original Ice Hotel is a building made entirely out of snow. You will have around 2 hours to explore, shop and eat if you wish to. After the tour, you will be transferred back to Abisko, pick up your luggage, and walk to the train station.
